I think I have a bogfest coming up on the front guards Rob. They seem to be a bit heavier than they should be. I follow a panel beater's face book site and every now and then someone will post a sculptural piece, sometimes with wire netting included. I won't beat you onto the road Clay but aiming for sometime in December. Who knows, it might even be December this year

Over the last few days, all doors have been stripped and sanded and tested for fit. Drivers side as good as it gets, passenger side not so good. Got some work to do on the outer sill at the B pillar and to get the triangle piece centred between the doors. While I thought this sill was properly aligned when I tried the doors months ago, it was about 6mm too low at the dogleg when I got back to it last week fitting the doors. Anyway, I cut it loose and did it again. Fixed the door gap but created a slight bow at the B pillar still to be fixed. The front passenger door is not quite sitting right in the photo and wants to open - just hinge jiggling as it was fine earlier in the week.
Once I'm happy with door fit, I'll whip them off, do the repairs, rust proof, paint them and finish inside cabin paint (and redo the dash ).
Lots of jobs not quite finished currently.

Love your work Brett. Doors should be in place when you fit the sill and attach the B-pillar as you may well know.

Yes, and they were That's why I braced the way I did; to be able to fit the doors while I was welding the bits together. The B pillar position was/ is fine. But obviously slipped up on positioning the dogleg end of the sill. All part of the learning.

Started attacking the doors today. Doing frame first, then half skin. Three layers on this previous repair

Nice rust trap. And a big patch going in. Not to hard to fold up the profile. You’ve got one of those small folding brakes haven’t you?

At least you know you've got it all. And new skin will be easy to block. Getting the gaps is the challenge.

Nice work Brett ... I'm happy enough to do rust repairs on the body, but when it came to bolt on things like the doors I went and found some good second hand ones ...

Thanks Patrick. If it all turns to , I've got a spare door to use. In fact, I swapped the worst door on the passenger rear for a mint one from near Bendigo. Thought I'd have a crack at this one and the passenger front.
