K frame modifications
Has anyone closed off the box sections on the k frame legs where they bolt on to the car? The inside legs are particularly prone to dirt entering and I was wondering if there was any reason not to make a plate that filled the cavities and sealed them up. Just about to prep mine for paint so now's the time.

Re: K frame modifications
I wouldn't, but rather clean them on a regular basis.
I always think about this but my car will probably not see the weather or a dirt road like it did 40 years ago.
Regards Greg

Brett,
The dirt and humus gets in through the holes in front of the radiator, not the bottom bits. Boxing at the bottom will only trap moisture and make things worse. Get a couple of 7/8” rubber blanking grommets and instal in the two holes after a thorough clean out and fill with Fisholene. They are only there to accomodate a socket head when attaching the subframe snout bracket.
