Another warm day. I was hoping to get some colour on the shell but still chasing imperfections. Reckon I’m done now and so I used the conditions to get four smooth coats of 1:1 primer on. It goes on beautifully when you are used to trying to lay it on thick at 4:1. Plan now as ever is to get it completely smooth with guide chalk and 400 with no rub through.

There goes another 4 litres of primer.

Hopefully another burst of warmth next week.

Cheers blacky. It is tempting to just wash it and paint without rubbing. The finish is good. Very fine orange peel. I would only be keying it. Guess I should. I want it to stick.

Rear windscreen seal finally arrived. Thought I got a bargain until I saw one still in the rares bag for $90 on gumtree.

Hi Clay,

Out of interest only, I'm keen to hear how supple it is...mine was noticeably stiffer than the windscreen rubber...just wondering if they are all the same

I got a full set from Better Auto Rubber so I don't have an idea of individual prices

I’d say it is about the same as the front Patrick but haven’t had them side by side. I got front from old auto rubber co but they didn’t seem to have the ute rear.

Will know more when I have a go putting it on the screens.

The rear I got from rares was a really good fit - hope they havent changed anything - a dip in some warm water might soften it a touch

Yes the rares rears seem to be the go, and old auto front.
