Smaller ones I’ll put copper behind and fill with mig. Couple of larger ones will require small patches. Should be ready to paint front floor then.

More work on the tailgate. ImageImage

No room for adjustment on the tailgate hinges so I will have to massage the top of the inner skin up on one side and shuffle the skin to one side to even the gaps.

Clay,

Where the hinges bolt onto the tailgate frame, isn't there a captive plate with threaded holes, like on front doors, so there is room for adjustment? Or are there captive nuts, welded direct onto the frame? And I gather the hinge attachment to the body uses countersunk screws. Maybe the captive plate arrangement is in the body. There has to be some provision for lateral adjustment somewhere.

Maybe it is just seized in position Rob but I will investigate further as what you say makes sense. The ones in the tailgate are fixed. On the body only the inner thread on each side are present so I will have to remedy that somehow. Probably the captive nuts sheared from their mountings when the original tailgate was removed and replaced with the current one which is from an FE or FC.

I haven’t mastered the shrinking. Lost patience and got distracted. Image
Stripped the anti drum sheeting from roof underside with heat gun and scraper.

Stripped the turret for a skim of bog and etch prime. Got to weld up the seatbelt bolt holes. Think I’m out of gas again!

Had a juggle with my wheel collection Image
