Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
A Massey Ferguson key fob swinging back and forth with all that paddock circle work will do that I suppose Stephen. I’ll give it all a bit of a polish with the old Repo while the dash is out and live with the patina effect for now. Maybe a closed door respray if I can’t get the outside looking right.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Fiddling with indicator switches. Found what I thought was a serviceable one and fished it out of a spare column only to discover one of the wired dislodged from the switch terminal. Never had much luck with soldering and was looking around for another when the soldering iron caught my eye.
It’s pretty obvious which one I “fixed” but it looks solid and should do the job.
The tricky part now will be getting the wires down through the column without having to perform too much disassembly.
I will try and feed some tie wire through and see how I go.

Why is it I always seem to discover at the last minute that things are not as good as I thought or assumed then to be? Painted up front hubs all nice after citric bath only to find one of the onside cones is pitted.
New sets aren’t dear but the originals are made in USA Timken. Hope car parts plus has stock.

Using father in law Kevin’s vice, god rest the old boy.
Being careful not to cock the shells of course. Used old shell as a spacer
With a cut through so it doesn’t jam.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Front brakes are a lot easier to install due to no handbrake mechanism.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Where to put the booster?
Thinking of fitting one of these
Thought I’d make one up but I may take the lazy option.

Don’t like how the one in the photo covers the oil fill.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
good point on the stabiliser Errol - had not noticed that - could you dremel enough of to give access without removing?
You will find me lost somewhere!
Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
No. I’ve seen others that have access. Prolly just make one Wally.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
You're still plodding along nicely, Clay.
What effect does that steering box bracket thingamajig have on the car? Does it always improve things or is it something that might work on some cars but not others depending on steering issues.
Cheers,
John

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Hi John
Improves any car I believe but you can demonstrate the effect by simply looking at the top of the box while loading up the steering with wheels on hard surface or lock limit. You will see the box move slightly even from low mileage.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Hi Neil
Yes VH44 the smaller one. I have done a few of these. Decided to mount as you say. Between steering box and radiator support. I have some brackets that will do the job from the dummy I have from gumtree. I was thinking of hiding it but couldn’t be bothered now. Maybe later I will put it under the tray floor together with the battery. Then I can fit in the supercharger big block triples etc lol. No but it tidies up the engine bay and improves handling.
Cheers
