G'day Folks,
I finally found one of those elusive FB Holden boot badges (complete with 3 x pins) to go on the tailgate of my EK ute. My tailgate has been re-skinned at some stage so I need to drill three holes but my question is what actually holds the badge in place? I want to make sure the bloody thing doesn't fall off as I will probably never find another!
Thanks
Stephen

Hi Stephen
I'll get back to you with a measurement from a battered one I have.
Obviously it is centered on the gate so I'll get the height for you

Re: Fitting Holden Boot Badge
you need the little inserts that fit into the skin - they hold the badge on similar to the ones on the glovebox door.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Fitting Holden Boot Badge
Thanks Dave, it would be good to position the badge in the correct location.
Blacky, I know what you mean about the small inserts as I found 2 on another badge in Dads box of spares, but I wasn't sure if they suited all badges. Are the inserts just a neat fit in the panel hole and then badge just presses into the insert, again as a neat/tight fit?
Regards
Stephen

OK Stephen
Checked on the old rusty and banged up original from my FB and essentially the distance from the bottom lip of the skin to the centre line of the badge holes is 10 1/2" in the old speak although one section I got 10 3/4" but that part was pretty bad. I'd be happy to go with the 10 1/2" one
Hope this has helped you a bit
Cheers
