Itinerary for our trip to the Nats

Post by WayneXG95 »

As we're getting closer to the Nats I've been working on an itinerary to get there with our trusty steads
working on averaging 80 kph and stopping for Coffee, lunch and piss stops I have this.
worked this out from travel mate website... :D

Fill up in Sydney and drive to Heatherbrae depart 8.30am arrive Heatherbrae (Newcastle) around 11.00am 214 klms and 2.30 hours.
(I have a feeling Blueberry will be drifting in on fumes..but each car will have a 10 litre container in the boot..lol)

Fill up at Heatherbrae and head for Taree..depart 11.30am and Taree arrive around 1.00pm 146 klms and 1.30 hours

(Be advised by my truckey mates to have lunch at the Caltex at "Coolongolook")

Top up at Taree and depart 2.00pm (lunch) and head for Macksville arriving around 4.00pm 172 klms and 2.00 hours

Fill up at Macksville departing around 4.15pm and head for Grafton arriving around 6.30pm 143 klms and 2.00 hours and overnight stay.

Next Day (Friday) Fill up at Grafton departing 8.0am (after breakfast) and head for Mullumbimby arriving around 10.30am 167 klms and 2.30 hours

Top up Mullumbimby and depart 11.00am heading for (a garage outside) Brisbane arriving around 1.00pm 155 klms and 2.00 hours

Top up Brisbane and depart 2.00pm (lunch) heading for Gympie arriving 4.00pm 169 klms and 2.00 hours.

Top up Gympie and arrive Hervey Bay around the 6.0pm mark Friday 121 klms and 1.45 hours.

That's 8 fuel stops from Sydney and I averaged $60 for each stop so that works out $480 for each car (one way) on Country Prices.
It will no doubt be less because some are only top ups and the others coming with us are paying their way in the other car as it's a holiday for them... :wtf:

Not counting the overnight stay in Grafton so there's another $100 for the Motel
I would say the return trip will be much the same..

So if I had to pay for all of it I would be up for $1,920 for fuel, $400 for Motel at Grafton plus accommodation at Hervey Bay.

Be interesting to see what the real costs will be when we get back...

Also, you don't have a passport
Ok I'll check that out, Thanks. My ex sister in law lives at Chermside, so been there before. but back in the early '80's

Oh you don't know this yet but I have 2 others coming with us so that 3 in each car plus luggage. 6 all told, He will post the cheque later.
so it's not so much the fuel consumpsion it's the weight.. :problem:
