Can anyone help with the " thrust washer " thats fits in the recess of the oil pump housing ?,..
its the one that the distributor drive gear must be in firm contact with when installing the distributor

Last year we met at the Maccas in Kelmscott and got there about 15 minutes after it started and really battled to get a spot :?
This year we might meet an hour before kickoff in the same spot so we can park together at the venue.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I have been able to have a look a stripped engine just and it would seem to me that the " thrust washer " i thought i might be missing looks to be down in a recess in the oil pump body and looks to be staked in 3 places so it wont come out.
Can anyone confirm this ? ,... as i had taken the distributor out some months ago i couldnt remember any washer on the end of it ,... and with the engine in the car it is difficult to see closely down the hole.
Anyways i think it looks like that is the case ,... the reason i had concern is that the manual states " Distributor must be installed so that the gear is in firm contact with thrust washer " ,.... im like what thrust washer ? :wtf:
Look if anybody can comment or share experience that would be great
