Yeah it should be but why rush it!
I have bought and sold a 1956 bedford to fund the rest of the rebuild.
I have been over the last week working on the paint. it is a real hard job if you are new at it there is a lot to learn and i can tell you I am learning. I got some motorvation at motored when I saw the chop shop FB then got even more motorvation when I went to the all holden day on sunday.
Wow there are some great cars out there yours was awesome wayne and the red v6 ek was perfect made me come home and work on the lines and finish a bit more if i am going to be sitting my car against those then I need to tidy up a few minor things first.
Rest assured I have a new goal which is summernats in january I have entered and paid my cash so I am motivated.
Stay tuned

Has been a while and have had a couple of quiet weeks and decided to my finger out on the FB.

Bazza on the gun giving it a lick of matt black

After paint with the new whitewalls on

Put the doors back together what a pain in the arse!!!
I ended up welding the front vent windows shut after we put the new rubbers in as I couldnt justify the $365 for some rare spares changeovers. The locking nut on the bottom of the vent channel snapped as it was rusted on hard.so we just welded it on at the base and it cant be moved my new hilux doesnt have vent windows so I dont see why my FB would need them either.

Got them all back together in a day couldnt be happier

Today we started on the inner door seals
Not many instructions on here but we plodded along and using the recomended 3M product started putiing them on.
We used 3M green masking tape to tape them on at 3-6inch intervals to assist with the bonding process and after the first door they just went on like a dream and after we took the tape off this arvo the bond is excellent
Image
The old girl as anyone who has read my posts had some issues with rust and the seat base was no exception we grinded the base hooks for the front off and the rear feet.
Fabricated a new set of both and with a bit of a tidy up with the grinder we welded them on a bit of paint and shes all good.

Next for today was the dyna mat we put it on the floor and will finish tommorrow.

We have put in the rear shocks and put in the rubbers.
What a prick of a job.
When we hung the doors they were way out.
Consulted my mate Paul Hunt who is a an old school PB he is coming around monday to sort out the door gaps and the rubbers
We put the tank in and fitted the master and booster in the engine bay today as well.
Pick up the rear lenses and cowl tubes plus the outer window rubbers from rares tommorrow so willhave more progress next week.
Have got heaps of photos but no energy to post do it later after we have finished the doors.

Mate, for what they will charge you to make the new lines you can buy a real nice flaring tool and make your own , the bundy tube is around $20 for a 6 metre roll and the fittings should be less than $1 each

I have one like this - http://www.performance-auto-tools.com/brake-tools.html - its a piece of cake to use
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Yeah made Em myself today along with some new fuel line.
Dropped the tank in and hooked it up clipped at all onto the chassis and then bled the brakes took about 4hrs after working out bends and stuff.
Just waiting on rare spares to sort their parts out and deliver them when they say and I can finish off the taillights And rear bumper

SCOOBB what steering setup did you run I have been looking at my torana one and reckon it looks shit so with little to do I was consulting the rocket catalogue which regularly gets me into a lot of trouble.
I have seen flaming river jobs and the like any ideas??

I used the 28 inch tilt adjustable Ididit column onto a shortened VB Commo rack, the issue with using the Commo rack is it mounts behind the crossmember so you have to do some sump mods to make it work.
It steers really well though, if it had power steering you'd think you we're driving a new car.

Had the doors adjusted today and there are some very interestng tricks to get these to hang properly.
We put the rear bumper on and taillights in (STILL WAITING FOR RARE SPARES TO GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER) so I can get my lenses and plenum drain tubes.
I ordered some window winders and handles last week on friday got them today they came from QLD and was told by rares at prospect that the gear I ordered from them would be in friday.
I called them and waiting waiting waiting still no drain tubes and lenses!!
