Went on a mid-week road trip today in Central Victoria.
The Calder Highway has by-passed Kyneton for years now.

An Old Chevy 1920's Truck rotting away in a front yard in Lancefield

Mollison Motors, an old Holden Dealership. Ended up as a Toyota Dealership before closing.
i organised an FB & EK Holden Club of Vic run to Mollison Motors in the mid 90's. The proprieters were the Lee Bros. Nice blokes who took over their Dad's business. In a shed across the road they had a collection of old Holdens. Most were trade-ins they had kept due to their rarity... factory ordered odd bod stuff
Like a HT Belmont with an opel 4 speed coming up through the vinyl floor mat, a HR Premier with a Bench Seat etc.

An Old highway garage - darn! The highway moved!

Drove to Melbourne today, and the Hume Hwy has now completely bypassed Holbrook (submarine town). It was dying down recently with a lot of shops closing. Most of the shops survived on the traffic coming through. Wonder how long it'll last now

Reminding Forum members to feel free to join and add pics to the facebook page:

I have taken the liberty to post a couple of outstanding pics from here.

We all love to trundle off to famous Route 66, but check out your own backyard!

Cheers

Hand painted sign in Portland, NSW. One of the locals is a sign writer, and each year a bunch of sign writers paint a bunch of traditional signs in the town. Worth the detour
