probly a bit late now and not my car but i like the look of the grill as is just with the body trimmed around it or maybe a neat thin chrome trim around the outside

That looks great! Tend to agree with the others, nothing to heavy around the opening. But it does Ned something there to finish it off.

Plenty of 2 inch masking tape around the opening so you don't damage the paint, handform a bit of copper pipe around the inside of the opening then braze or silver solder on some mounting tags on the back, and get it chromed.
