If it was re-spayed in 85 there should be signs of rust bubbling out by now, maybe the car was done well but not real smooth.
I bought my sedan in 2000 and it was in undercoat so i smoothed it as best I could and got it sprayed, I am cutting the rust out that is poking its way through the paint now (about 11 years on the road).
It could be good enough for a sand down and re-spray  .
The interior is in good nic, there is a load of cash you don't have to spend  .

Yeah u got some good point there Trev, the interior really is immaculate. Even the hood lining is all intact. I guess I'll just take a punt and hope that it's all ok in the areas I can't see huh. :?

I think I've found the one... Although the colour wouldn't be my first choice the body is mint, could only find minimal bog, no rust visible and it's complete and running. Plus it's an FB 8)

Nah i only took those few... See the book on the dash?.. That's the original operators manual! 8)

The floors all look pretty good, can't see any evidence of the floor pans being replaced either, however the underbody has been sprayed with that textured underbody paint (not sure what it's actually called). The owner before this guy apparently rebuilt it from ground up. The subframe looks all original (couldn't see any patched up bits like some others i looked at) the engine is all original, 3 on the tree...

The subframe numbers match the rego papers - yes it's licensed! :D

The best part... I've bought it! 8) 6g's.

Love the colours - looks to be the same as mine (Colleen Green and Reef Green). I sees scratch plates and the remanants of a heater too - nice. Those door trims want replacing though.

Cheers,
