Boot won't open

Post by Finny »

I went to check the boot on the sedan last week and couldn't get it to open. :( :(
Key fits and turns, but won't open.

Just doesn't seem to have any movement at all.
Wondering if any has found sticking seals can cause problems or mechanic issues?
I recall the seal making a noise last time I opened it.

If it is the seal, it's holding really well.
Not a lot to open it with and with a lot of effort the catch is moving, just not the boot.
Any experiences with this that worked. :D

Might be worth pulling out the backseat and climbing through to have a look?
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

Back seat gone, gas tank just as large.
But could just see down one side.
Looked like a 2 inch long thing sticking out of the lock.
Something had obviously come adrift.
My son managed to get it eventually, with a bit of muscle.
Now need a new lock plate.
