Harv, you are going through exactly
The same thing as I did. I looked around at car yards, chased up
Colour cards etc. in the end I got a mate to make up some Painted pieces of the 3 reds I had short listed. I Looked at them for about a week before I decided ( that's the red in my previous ek photo) Last week I saw milkshake for the first time and now I wish I had painted it green. Oh well , Keep at it. Regards
Ian

:smile2: red is a hard color to photograph harv
you need a decent camera that you can adjust color spectrum on to get a good true color pic
had this trouble when trying to take photo's of my old red wagon lots of photo's looked orange .

Ok Harv, I've busted out the good camera and got the car out in some normal light. Its a big difference as you can see and not so orange now.
Hope this helps out.
Cheers.
Craig.

Mate all I need is the paint code.
I painted a statesman for a guy once. He gave me the colour name. I bought the paint. Shower him the colour in the tin whch he accepted and then painted the car.
Once done he picked it up and took it away. About a mnth later I still hadnt been paid.
When I chased it up he said I painted it the wrong colour. Turns out there was two blues with the same name.
It got pretty messy (i lost it with him ) but I eventually got paid.
After that experience I have never gotten involved in picking colours on customers cars.

Cool 8) . I

My wagon will be running 15" Conformadore pursuit rims (poor mans Western Sydney mags  ). Can't make my mind up if I want them body colour (Apache Red :D ) or white. Figure I'll ask Dave to hit them with the red while its in the gun, then maybe get a second set and paint them white myself (I can probably be trusted to paint a set of rims... might have to practice on the trailer first  ... been twenty years since I last painted a car).

Cheers,
Harv

If you are just running chaser rims id probably do the gunmetal silver with a white striped tyre. Red will be too much and white would make it look like you are running sunrayser rims.

Sorry Muza. My copies of the GMH book is missing about 14 colours for 1960 and sadly Fernando Yellow is one of them. I had someone on the forum email me scanned copies of the book for 1960-62, but I may have misplaced a few pages as I was only looking for colours that I needed.....a bit short sighted hey!

I had a quick look at my copies though and they are a bit blurry but pages 127 -128 are there and they cover 1960 to 61 so I'm a bit stumped as to why so many colours aren't there. The book is 1980 dated so maybe they dropped a few colours over the years.
