Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, Option 2 has got my preference also, really started to grow on me.
A bit more paint done yesterday (black). Just covering stuff as it's done.

Re: EK Wagon project - Total rebuild
Option two. If you are keen on black see how it looks with the roof done.
Re: EK Wagon project - Total rebuild
Another for option 2.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
Re: EK Wagon project - Total rebuild
Option 2 looks the best, but I think option 1 with a black roof wouldn't be too bad either.
He who dies with the most toys wins!!
Re: EK Wagon project - Total rebuild
Option 2 also seems to be closest to it's original colour scheme. And just looks cleaner.

Re: EK Wagon project - Total rebuild
Started on my steering wheel repair / repaint a few days ago.
Drilled out the cracks and filled them, then primer/filler, then some blade putty, some more primer/filler and lots of sanding in between each one.

And then the rain set in
so it got put on hold before the Black and Gloss was done.
Didn't get a final photo, but I managed to get rid of all the minor cracks and lines.

I like the water pipe brace you made, good work, just like stewarts spring stretcher tool...

And yet another lesson learned today.
After watching the humidity sitting from 70 up to 99% over the last few days, today the sun was out and it dropped to 59% and I thought that will do.
It's only the steering wheel, not a big area, no real problem.
It was really noticeable at soon as painted, made it look grey.

It seems to have darkened up a lot as time progressed.

However it was still very obvious in a couple of areas. And definitely not the glossy black I was looking for.

Checked the humidity after I had finished and it had blown out to over 90%. Plus I was painting out on the grass which was still wet from the rain.
I'm assuming the clouding was due to humidity, unless anyone has another idea.
Just glad I wasn't doing body panels.
Think I'll be waiting for 50% in future and getting away from any moisture.
Not sure if I need to sand it all right back and start over from scratch, or if buffing will take it out.

Thanks Tim. I'll give that a try.
Sitting on 65% at the moment.
Hope it drops enough latter today

Steering Wheel update.
The Humidity was down and time to paint again.

Gave it a light sand back and sprayed both Black and Clear again.
This time it came out right, should look even better when buffed.

A new shiny steering wheel.
One more job out of the way.
