Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
Today i didnt get a lot done. I finished off the lower tailgate and mocked the car up to get an idea how its going to look.
I think im going to lower the height of the ladder rack by a couple of inches and i really like it with the sunvisor and wheels.
I have to visualise the car lowered for now.
I thought i would have the car raked forward a bit so the ladder will be level with the ground.

Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
I thought i would put another day in on my van today. I didnt finish till 11 pm. I kinda got into a zone and couldnt stop.
I got home and my dinner was sitting on the table all cold. I knew i was in trouble for not coming home.
I can live with that.
I fitted all the weird stuff that makes it a scc van.
I remade the front roof rack two inches lower.
I also fitted the sunvisor. Its an aftermarket accessory one for a sedan so i made a new centre bracket.
Then i made a braket for the spotlight.
After spending two hours making it i decided it was too high so i started again taking half an inch off.
It was really hard drilling that first hole in the turret for the racks.

Thanks scotty. Russell sugested i put widened steelies painted body colour with original hub caps.
Either way its going to be on the ground.
I dont have any caps for these wheels. I was thinking of using some glass insulators that go on the telegraph poles.
I found four green ones in the US.

Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
Well i got some colour on it today. I found a couple of dents i missed and the doors were hell to get lined up.
The rh one sat out at the bottom. I eventually tried another lower hinge and hey presto it lined up.
Tomorrow ill redo the two tiny dents and paint all the other parts.
Ill also paint the inside cab out with colour flek as original.
Four weeks to go. Not feeling confident i can get it finished by then.
