Thanks everyone for their interest, comments and support.

I wish I could say she's finished but I've just got back from a few weeks holiday down the coast...plenty of surfing, swimming and lazing around Feeling refreshed and ready to get back into it. Whilst I was away I made up a bit of a 'to do' list which gives you an idea of what remains...

1. All door rubbers - inners and outers
2. Polish exterior stainless and install
3. Hookup stereo and speakers
4. Install gearbox linkages and clutch master slave cylinder
5. Front guards, stone tray, grill, bonnet, bumper bar
6. All badges
7. Wiper arms and motor
8. Seatbelts
9. All rear cargo area trim
10. Front end electricals - headlights, blinkers, horn
11. Seats
12. Fix or replace drivers door lock
13. Finish all door mechanisms and fit door trims

I'm sure I have forgotten some things but that's where things are at for now.

Thanks Sam and Marty. She's going on vintage rego to start with...I can't afford another car on full rego.

Once all the paperwork and pink slip is signed off and I front up to the RTA - will the RTA office have to order in the historic plates or do they have them available.

Probably a good idea to install drive shaft first, then fill box. If the shaft is out, they dribble oil out the gearbox rear seal. Can use a plastic bag taped over the end of the box to catch the oil, but neater to do it the other way.

Nightmare revisited, Stewart... have only done two of my four... r/hs still in waiting... they are pesky blighters, aren't they...?

Tech people at Rares were very helpful explaining in point form to me how to fit them.... but mine continue to be very "fat" after some 12 years since fitting.. even though I believed I incorporated quite a bit of "stretch" whilst running them around the aperture.

Replacements fit nothing like the originals which were almost a finger push close.... these definitely demand some "wellie" be put into a first effort close....

I found Loctite 424 definitely afforded some ease during fitting... guess it comes down to how much "gap" exists around the door/body aperture - like most other "gaps" in our old buses - I expect this varies quite a bit.... I ponder on what the design vehicle Rares used for their spec.... must have had pretty loose fitting doors..
