I'd rather drive something made of metal, not plastic!

Anyway, a new fuel sender unit went in and now we're cruising again :D
The old one might still be OK, not sure if EK/FBs are the same but FE/FCs have two different fuel senders. If you put the wrong sender in the right car eg sedan sender in a wagon the guage will show half a tank when it's actually empty (discovered on a trip back from Mt Gambier :x )

Thanks for that, I'll let Dad know because we actually got the replacement one from the wagon, we'll have to keep an eye on it. It seemed to be working fine when we tested it yesterday but I'll keep it in mind if we have any issues :)

Well done,

Another car saved !!

[quote][/In trying to fix that up I made a query as to whether power tools were wise around a tank full of petrol..and just so happens it was empty

quote]

Funny enough but a fuel tank empty is far more dangerous than a full one. Its the fumes that go bang.

Awesome job on the FB, all you need to do now is show it off at car shows, so that we can check it out!
congratulations.

SheilaShoe wrote:yeah, such a shame there's not a tv show filming in our shed, they always seem to rebuild a car in 2 days! really looking forward to getting it done properly. it should be on the road by christmas, we'll be taking it to the port fairy rod run in january for my birthday :P

i want it to look fairly original so it'll be a pastel colour and white, thin white walls and we've got HR hubcaps (freebies! plus FB ones are too hard to get in good nick) but it'll be lowered with a few bits and pieces added. when i'm off my P's we'll be putting the VT V6 engine in and what not with a new exhaust etc.

hopefully it all goes to plan!
So has that happened...Are we off our "P's"...did it all go to plan?...Oh the questions....
