Stewart, not to place too fine a point on this... but you won't get to see it on the road anyway.... not for at least a week, by my reckonning....
You'll be in the driver's seat for the first week - probably take your meals in there.....you need to leave the vehicle to see it on the road.....

Hey Daz thanks for the push - I'll try and get some pics up soon. IOnce we get another coast on the dash I can then remove the plastic that's protecting the front end from over spray and then some pics... 8)

Tim - the EK is going to run before the FB will...that's what you get for missbehaving...banished!

Stewart - surely you have done "something"..... I'd hate to be that FB at the moment..... but, thinking of it - such is the case of my EK... no action! other than paying the annual registration (another year not used!).....

During July I derusted the front seat guides and polishing and cleaned the front seat sides...

Image

I used molasses...thanks Danny (OldMansLacky) for reminding me of this great cheap and effective rust remover...

Image

I then hit it with the karcher...
Image

Thomas put some primer on...

Image

Some original factory markings...OK..

I was hoping that the orginal vinyl on the front seat could have been saved. Unfortunately the 50 year old vinyl in this case had gone hard and brittle was was starting to crack and split all over the place. So the seat was recovered in a close match and some original inserts were used and I sourced others (thanks Russell)...

Daniel did an amazing job...the whole seat was rebuilt with new hand formed springs and new foam...
