Thanks all..

Tig, Mig & arc searsy.. The recent stuff has mostly been tig welded. 90% of the chassis was migededed

First is was black & red, then grey, then black & red now grey again. I think since I got the new wheels it's been grey? Ask me in a few weeks...

As much as some would say make it stand out from the crowd, finishing it in a factory style colour and trim would set that car off! It would leave all the engineering to speak for itself and be like the ultimate understatement. Almost sleeper like... sometimes less is more.

I totally agree with the less is more statement. Have you considered something like some pearl mixed into the grey? Leon's fc wagon (fccool) is a good example, straight white over blue with heaps of pearl, evokes factory two tone paint yet is custom enough to get your attention.

I agree, plain & simple! I don't want to recreate something to last a period. At least with standard style trim & paint it'll be cool forever.

Same goes for the engine. This is roughly what I want it to look like. Maybe no Chev emblems on the covers though.

Mill the covers flat, remove the logo from the inlet manifold and paint the entire engine up in standard Holden red with a satin black painted plain air cleaner.

Pop some High Output 327 stickers on the rocker covers and your done.

Detailed stock (looking) smallblocks fill my undies with ironbark.
