same heard of the 130 but never seen one someone on here once posted a pic of i think a 201 or something like that it was in a forklift
it's funny the amount of people that have never heard of the 138 red and will argue with you they don't exsist
also the 149 are strange with no size cast on the side of the block i bought one from a clearing sale once (the auctioneer could have been a member from here  ) because there was nothing on the side of the block he tried to palm it off as some type of prototype engine  luckilly there wasn't any gulible people there and i got it for $5 :D

130 reds were export only (apparently). Not sure what the thinking was though.

Yep,

Got one in me shed, came out of an LC Torana, has trimatic attached.

Externally they look like any other red motor but have 138 cast into the block.

The engine number prefix also gives 'em away.

Starts with prefix Cd ( or something like that , the engine's not sitting in my lap ATM )

Will throw up a pic of the 138 casting later if you like.

They only came out in LC/LJ Torana's.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

In the early 70's they were the easiest way to go to get a red motor in an early holden legally.
The rego guys and the cops use to look for the numbers cast on the side of the block first, before writing out a defect.
Engine numbers were not a problem
But, some of us knew how to change the 186 casting to 138
