No takers on why I cut both quarterts off ? your a drab bunch.

Heres a couplke of pics of something ,if you have any questions I guess just keep em to yourself ha!

This is the 57 in its new home , Ive been developing this area into my studio , The area thats most sound proof , its protected by the bar area towards the wanker neighbour who keeps causing me grief .
Ive been using anticon 100mm to insulate the roof by stripping the colorbond but at the same time I extended it a touch to meet up and enclose it , Ive then filled all voids with 3 or more layers of foam and am about to gyprock it .

Image

It was a mammoth task to move the 57 due to the room on offer , Ive got the chopped ek ute in the shed hanging from the rafters to sort out the inner sills and widen the rear of the body. it had to be ratcheted to the back rafters to pull it clear ,and the chassis under it with no wheels had to be jacked and pulled 4 or 5 times to clear the 57s quarters as it came out on the angle , pulling it diagonally through the roller door.

The 58 had to be pulled from the saloon to pressure clean ,along with the FCaswell which has no subframe .
and the EK coupe sat on the dewy grass for a couple of days while I pressure cleaned and painted the floors and recovered the bar facade with timber and repainted the doors with a chocolate brown to match ,it sounds gross but looks great. never thought Id paint anything brown in my life

I got the bar / saloon to lock up and installed the alarm , and Im putting in a camera on the rear to hopefully catch my neighbour redhanded with whatever he threw through my roof last time.

And now with the local upcoming billy cart derby a couple of streets away we are into building this .

Image

You will find plans for it on the web but I stretched it and lowered it then changed wheel size so its more ours.
The derby is a little over a month away so Ill post pics after the event.

Trev your probably not far off , Ive been planning a nice area that helps to protect a finished car and this is it ,so as long as this soundproofing works it will be full steam ahead again. I remember pushing my bike along the side of dads 38 when I was a kid and the end of the pedal scratched swirls into the door and guards right down to primer ........ Ive got kids now  .
Thanks for the cool comments about the backyard but its actually been a help that I couldnt make noise - I just worked on the house and yard and the wanker neighbour couldnt do a thing about it :)
Insidethe saloon got an upgrade aswell , I was lucky enough to score 2 pallets of timber flooring of all different types and colours a while back so I worked out what I could cover with the quantities and the bar front copped some redwood whilst the bar floor has a nice textured creamy marble cake type of bamboo ,Its come up a million bucks and now looks too good for me .

The local billy cart run is the first to happen and is a great one to learn on , its not long ,not too steep and wont be big .
However if you like hills come down to the Port Kembla derby ,its been run since the 40s I believe and after a break is about to start up again , not sure of the dates but a web search will bring up their www.

YEP- Ive got that curse  ,although this time Im glad I noticed it before paint .
Im shortening the quarters a touch just to balnce it out with the side profile. also considering lowering the rear guards a touch - like an inch max
