So, what colour do I do the rims?

Post by John »

My old girl is Castel green with a white roof.
I'm putting narrow banded white walls on her but unsure whether to do the rims white, or green?

They look originally green (EK) but unsure whether to change because of the white wall.

thoughts???
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and

John, I tried white band tyres on white rims and now think it's not a good combination. To me, the white rims seem to lessen the impact of the white bands.
Maybe paint them Castel green, or a darker green, or some other complimenting/contrasting colour, but NOT white...
My car is mid/dark blue and pearl white - I chose light blue (Elk Blue) for the rims; looks miles better than the white rims...

cheers, jack

How about yellow?.....

Seriously though body colour would be fine or maybe white provided you run at least a centre cap. Although I have to agree with Jack, white rims do detract from the whitewall.

It depends if you're putting original hubcaps on. If so, I'd do them white. With the narrow band white wall the white rim does suit it. With the fat whitewall, it doesnt so much

If you're going for something like moon caps or bullets, then painting them the colour of the car would look ok.

Your choice, really

Looks right with the thin whitewalls. Very nice.

If using the wider whitewalls, I'd have gone the green.
