Then some more 'fun' putting the front hubs on - I couldn't get them all the way on. Hmm...recurring theme happening here...

On Monday night Luis came over to help get Old Timer back on the ground...

Cobbled together some old rims and tyres...

We dropped the front end first and then the rear end.

Awesome feeling seeing the wagon back on the ground and rolling after 3 and a bit years...

Feels like I've passed a definite milestone.

Next step is to test fit hanging panels.

"That" slight detour, Stewart is now as far back in time as the "sunset" pic of your FB with surfboard at Crescent Head - included in my stills on the DVD I made..... no-one rised to comment on "how" I effected a sunset on the East Australian coast - facing east....... amazing what a fade out can do.... both in video and audio...

The root cause of the detour was to obtain the first answer to the observation run...... and like one F1-11 with a series of devoted followers... we all ventured down that dirt track looking for clues..... it became apparent some 4 km's later that the clues were not as disguised as I suspected..... needless to say, we didn't have many follow our lead after that little "sojourn"....

Yes, t'was a great muster - our last...... seems a long time ago now...

Sorry to swamp your thread - just took a peek at your latest pix.... those "cups" look like they have been hand polished!
Old timer will surely be one very spiffy limo when you're done.... I can see the apprehension on actually driving it creeping up within.....

Just make sure you wrap it all up before spraying the body, would hate to get over-spray on all those detailed parts

I actually believe you are going to cry when you drive this recreation for the first time, Stewart..... not of concern, but of relationship to the first time someone else drove it in new condition..... little bit more to go yet - but the old dear is back on its "feet"....

Your efforts are outstanding. That's at least two of us with "clinker grey" engine bays in gloss ..... your's will look just perfect with a "grey" motor in there as well.....
I believe you should now introduce Thomas to the cleaning cloth..... clean engine bay, clean cloth - and the two won't dirty each other until one messes up....
I'd hate to be that "one"....

I tell ya what Stu, I bloody hope you are proud of your achievements to date mate!! Lookin bloody fantastic!! I bet at this stage you can start to see all the blood sweat and tears really being worth it. But being a 'special' car it woulda been worth it anyway!

The 'old timer' looks to becoming a NEW CAR!!

This project is worth the wait in time, as every piece that goes back on has the T.L.C factor in it.

Great work and thread Stewart...I can't wait to see the finished product.

Wow Stewart i haven't been on here for quite a while your efforts are worthy of an award just for the dedication because of it's history alone but the level of quality and commitement are something you should be very proud of. Good to see your young bloke getting involved to he will look back when he is older and be very proud also.
