Thanks Guys , am happy with the tail lights , they sort of match in with the front park lights , same shape .

No more driving till I get some brakes Aidan have learnt my lesson , will chase some down next week and fit them up , and another carby if this one doesnt buck its ideas up , if anyone knows how to get a damn rochestor to run would love to hear from you

Was talking to my engineer checking on a couple of things , forgot to tell me he wants side intrusion bars in the doors too , had to burn off a bit more paint , going backwards this week

Made up a curved piece and welded it in to try and match the dash

I keep forgetting this is an I.C.V..... ......man they want you to jump through some hoops, don't they! You'de think that the gauge of the door steel is thicker than what modern Zimm box's would be for both skin & intrusion bar!

Not ICV , only coming up to the new VSB14 code , ICV would be much stricter .
When I put the seat in the back , he said that would need intrusion bars and the baby seat mounts , seat belts etc , but he never said anything about the front doors needing the bars, thought they would be OK but apparently not , glad he told me now and not when it was painted , that would of been a bummer .

Has anybody else had to put the door intrusion bars in ? Checked it with their engineer ?

nothing i've ever done has needed them and i've done a few differant things but differant states/engineers some come up with strange things

Just had a quick read through that section in the code but cant see anything about it in there , oh well keep the engineer happy I say , dont want to pee him off over something simple

Jeez Rusty, I just read about your test drive! I promise that I did try really hard not to laugh, but sorry, when I got to the bit about the steering wheel coming off in your hands I just couldn't help myself. . Like most of the other guys on here I've no doubt I'd do exactly the same thing - after all, how much harm can you come to just going for a quick squirt down the drive?? Looks like you've got the damage in hand though, so good luck to ya.

Jeeezus Rusty!!! Can't believe after all that time and effort you'd drive it without brakes.... The steering wheel nut, thats a bit different how else do you line up the wheel

You were very lucky fairly easy fix. I remember the first drive in mine, no exhaust or glass but I had everything else right. Too much time and effort had gone into it reaching that point to have to do a re-do.

Stupid is the word DR , In my defence I did think the handbrake was working and was only going to crawl up and back ,nothing silly , and I hate re doing things it is one of my biggest hates .

Just got back from town have ordered all my brake parts , except a proportioning valve , cant buy new ones they reckon ? Sure I have seen them somewhere ?

Yeah mate, you're 100% right on that..it's a dick to drum valve from an HQ. Sorry to get your hopes up (I din't even think about your cars set up...put it down to age ).

Buy an adjustable one through a Hot Rod supply buisness to suit the setup you have, its that easy.
