Someone must have the plans to build your own chassis kit on here, after hearing how many people complain about the fitment of the crs ones no wonder everyone wants to build their own. I would be pissed off if I had to re-fabricate parts that I had already purchased!!!

I will give George a call I am continuing with my original Colum at the moment.
Finally got some time to work on the wagon today, I have built my lads a shed as a jam room (sound proofing and all) came up a treat.
Cut the extractor holes on the inner guards, will tidy up in the morning.
I will make up some stencils once I tidy them up, so as others can use them.
Hope get stuck into some rust repairs over the next few days and replace some sub frame sections.
The ally radiator I got sits a bit high, may change it over not to sure. Picked up some go fast bits for the small block.
Back to work Tuesday (bloody hell that went quick)
Cheers

Thanks Lads

Cheers for the pic Harv, is that a VL radiator? Might use one of those in the grey Ute as it will be a daily.
Agree with Blackie the kits are not to flash, I am making my own for chassis kit the grey Ute, will post pic once finished.

Fingers : I work away (up North) I will send you the stencils once I get home. They will be on an A3 so I will send via snail mail If ya want with some details on are to lay them, send PM with ya details. I love the build specially the coil over front end. I rang the crew at Southern Chassis Works, but only got an answering machine. I am very keen to get one of those.

Steved57 the radiator is an Alloy custom from Fiddy customs. Its 24 x 19 it will require a bit of trimming to get it in so I might put it in the burnout Ute (308 & power glide) and get a 24 x 17. Most of the off the shelf ones are 19 inches high there are lower ones if you look around. Depending on choice of motor will determine the inlet & outlets. You should be able to get one for around $300.

Yep, radiator in mine is VL Conformadore auto. Same size core as the VK 308, so should handle the 327 going into mine. Inlets/outlets are in the right spot for SBC, and height is damn close to correct (have to notch the front radiator support bar though.

Cheers,
Harv.

Its been a while but I got some time on the Wagon over the last few days. Been busy tiding up the ute and stripping the red six's Had the 202 rebuilt with a nice cam all the race gear and a refurbished YT head, just cant decide what to put in :? , cant bring myself to moding the ute.

Back to the wagon

Alloy radiator is all but fitted, small amount of rust to get rid of on the front clip and then I can bolt it back on.

Next milestone is to get it of the rotisserie. a little more work on the chassis and some minor rust and a body Shutz and thats it for the undercarriage for now.

Will go the stainless fuel tank and BW diff for now (9 inch in the future)

Top end kit arrived from the US today so I can start on the 350, good value when you see what ya get. :D

Cheers

Gazza

Had the ally radiator modified, cut some angles on the bottom to clear the chasis, fits like a bum in a bucket.

Trimmed the lip off the front of the clip to allow the radiator to move another 1/2 in forward. Bit of welding and a tidy up and I can finally put the clip back on and sort the steering.

Having a nice piece of polished stainless flashing made up to cover the top of the radiator 8)

Will end up with about 1/4 to 3/8 clearance on the water pump. Using the counter sunk screws and billet pulley.

Will run a big single thermo if anyone has any advice on the thermo (brand performance ect) would be much appreciated

Cheers

Looking at some colours to paint the wagon, the missus likes the Holden “Poison Ivy green”

I am thinking keeping the original colour theme with a more modern paint maybe “Turismo blue” with white roof. will get some sample pots and run them through the gun.

Hopefully off to the paint shop in a couple of months.

Cheers

Finally goy some time on the wagon, put a new diff in (Borg Warner with Billet axles & commodore discs) Been running some test colours through the gun and have decided on the Turismo blue with Pearl white roof.

Started putting the 350 together with the help of a mechanic, first time for me so its 20,000 questions for me poor mate . :)

Roster change at work slowed things down for a bit but hope to get some good progress in 2012.

Engineer is happy to date so that's a big plus.

Pulled these of one of the parts cars today cleaned up a treat. They are getting very expensive so beta not leave em lying around for the missus to file

Hi Western Wagon,
Just wanting know where you bought your wagon from?
It looks like my old girl.
I bought it from Tamworth about 7 years ago from the original owner, which was a hydramatic, but he put a manual in it.
I put wheel trims on and sold it soon after.
I sold it to a guy in San Souci (NSW)and he sold it to a guy in Queensland (I think)about 2 years ago.
Just curious to know if it is the old girl!!!
