Hello all

Post by SecondOwner »

Hi.

I have been an FB owner now for about 13-14 years. I purchased my car for 1k it was being held in trust for relatives of the deceased, The first owner was a Jeweler/clock maker and was a (player) bachelor till the day he died I'm told. It had leopard skin seat covers on it........ yeah I know :D

Upon removing said covers I learnt the old guy must have put the now faded leopard print ones on in the 60's as the seats under the covers where original and awesome. I had to go out and have new covers made for the front and back in the photo's the original interior is under those covers. I tried finding my trim number in the list but couldn't work it out the number is 650 .818.

There is some surface rust on the floor just needs rubbing back and resealing as well as small bubbles in the front door. I have the owners manual as well as what i believe is the dealers business card. I do have a log book somewhere round the house of its service history. It's an FB 225 special However I just haven't got round to putting the little fins and special badges + 3 stars back on (Lazy i guess) I have a small car yard of parts which came with the car anything you notice which isn't original, chances are i have the original part in one of the boxes. Boxes of brand new parts never opened, If i was to take a guess this old player was in the process of rebuilding his beloved car when he passed on as the logs showed a total engine rebuild costing him a little over 2k, a year earlier bout the time he fell ill.

That's the car and my dog

Rusty floor.. isn't that bad i just need to rub it back and resurface it with something

This is the front drivers door, yeah that's my greasy thumb print as I was under it earlier fixing the linkage's, I just had the shifter arms on the gearbox welded up as they had become lose in the holes.

Front i should really stop being lazy and stick the fins and all the badges back on.

Well I don't really show my car off, I fumble round learning as I go from books, I'm no expert that's for sure. Only learnt how to do the points today I kind of fly solo I guess. I just love getting out on those country roads and cruising along. Oh befor I forget some may find this of intrest I dont know... ??

And these 2 Last pictures are for all the NEW FB owners out there who cant figure it out

This would have to be my fav colour combo on an FB 8)

My EK wagon also had leopard print covers over the original vinyl since new. Kept the original trim mint.

Under advice from my local guru and wreckers here i decided to repaint the rims back to white and stick the hubcaps back on.

Also quick question i been looking at events all the events are miles from where i am.. how ever i do know of an event in my area on the 26th its some piss up and stripers.. you can enter your car for 60 bucks to go on the dyno for fun. if i get details for events like this should i post them or are events just officiall club stuff in the whats going on section.

oh sputzwagon for the up hill sections isent that why the designers made the front windscreen curved so water runs round the side
