Shaved Door Handles , who,s done it and how ??

Post by Rusty EK »

Ok , have shaved everything else off the poor old girl so I suppose I should do the door handles , so who has done it and what is the easiest way ??
So I am guessing I use a remote locking mechanism to lock /unlock the doors and poppers to open , can you buy this in one kit ????

How have you done the emergency manual release ??

Check with your engineer - you need an external door release of some sort by law apparently.
Smooth Customs on this forum does a kit which gives you a flush fitting push button - I think Mick Jagger has a set in his car and theres pics on his buildup in My FB/EK.
I bought a kit from the States and fitted it into my 2 door EK which opens the doors remotely - it came with the solenoids , the electronic gadgetry , the poppers and the key fob thingy to make it all happen .
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

G,day Blacky , haven't checked with engineer but your right you do need the release , so if your in an accident they can get in to you , apparently .

Have seen smooth customs set up , not sure how it would be after a couple of years , can imagine finger nail marks and scratches all over it ?

How has your set up been , that is what I was thinking of , does it do the Job??

Was thinking now is the time to chase some of this gear out of the states while the dollar is up , was going to get an electric window set up as well .

It does the job , dont know how it would be long term , I fitted it nearly 10 years ago and have probably only opened the doors a dozen times
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
