commodore rack onto hr front

Post by tuffbwagon »

hi guys just wondering if anyone can maybe post some pics of how they mounted theyre commodore rack onto hr front. i tryed to have a look at the ahd but most were too low to get under properly. is it better to cut the rack in half and reweld or cut the tie rods and re thread them. i have a rack here thats been cut in half and re welded but i really dont think its the wise option. also is it imperritive to make sure the tie rods are absolutely horizontal with the rack or can they be a little angled . i really want to alleiviate as much bump steer as i can. whats the best intermediate shaft to use between the column and the rack also. thanks wayne

Wayne , I think you might find that most people buy a rack already done as part of a kit. I have narrowed a couple of Mini racks for off road buggies but all the cars I have built I have bought a rack .
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
