attaching door rubbers / cheap weather stripping

What are people using to attach inner/outer door rubbers and similar rubbers?

I tried to use the search function but its broken, so i thought i would just post a new topic

From the outset i will say that i hate contact bond and refuse to use it!

Also anyone found a place to buy weather strip by the meter or some such? 240 odd bucks for a couple of weather strips doesn't sit well... I was thinking about heading to the wrecker and seeing what i could make work...

for glueing the rubbers in gary V8EK4US used a like superglue (not the $2 shop stuff, made for glueing rubber) and then that's what i used as like you i hate contact and i found it much better only prob was a bit fiddly as the glue that i used is very runny (like water)

All I can remember is its Prism 406... can't even remember the brand now

As long as it it 406 it will do ya - dont use 401 on stuff that is porous , it wont stick properly.

Thats it Trev, I remembered just after I got home from work, was out in the shed freeing up a speedo and noticed on the shelf another loctite product. Gotta get more 406 it sticks anything to everything, especially fingers

Scott's Old Auto Rubber. No. 260.109 looks close BUT could be wrong dimensions.

There's ebay also, but the only ones i can find are complete rubber kits for nearly the same prices as *AR* *PA*E* (they haven't really done anything too bad so i don't think it would be fair to name them properly-just seem overpriced)

Haven't tried Clark Rubber yet, but i'll be checking them soon. I think $60 per outer seal seems over the top for something that probably costs $2 a metre to make. If other places sell similar types by the metre for around $8/metre, and if we use 5m maximum for each door outer seal, then it should be more like $40.
