Yo..
Can someone with a HR /HK manual please post the carby jet sizes for a 186 here for me.
or .. steer me onto a link that has the info??
I have had a scratch around here with the search option and cant find anything.
The carb that i used to get to Narrandera the other week has..
pump by pass....56
power by pass...55
idle tube.........68
Main...............58 (i think this is 173 /179)
Recoed carb that gave me trouble has...
pump by pass.....56
power by pass....59
idle tube..........68
main..............62
Both are 1 5/32"..BXV-2
Currently have both in pieces on the bench and giving them a good clean out.
I have an adjustable main jet here... might slap that in once i get the rest of the carb set up and running right with 186 stock spec jets and settings. dont wanna bung it in yet until i find what caused all the dramas with the recoed carb on the way to the nats.
Thanx in advance

Re: Correct 186 jet sizes
Thanks for that Trev
I also got a pm from Terry ( FBMad) which states as follows..
.....
G'day Reddo,
Carbs for both 179 and 186 were the 1 5/32 venturi sizes ( you probably already know that )
From Gregories Shop manual FX to HR:-
Main metering jet number 58
Idle tube 68
Pump by pass 56
Power by pass 55
In comparison the HQ to HJ 173's and 202's were 1 7/32 Venturi sized carbs and the following:-
Main metering Jet number 60 (173 ) and 65 ( 202 )
Idle tube 68
Pump by pass 56
Power by pass 55
Some main jet differences there most likely due to the air velocity difference between the 179 and 186 venturis and 173 and 202 venturis.
Carb is now cleaned and back on the car. I found a lump o brass in the bowl. appears to possibly have come off the thread in the needle and seat brass.
Oh .. and one other thing... Time to fess up. Apparently the last roadside carby strip and rebiuld i done on the friday attempt to get to Narrandera....i managed to put the needle in the seat back the front
... its a bloody wander the thing ran at all let alone drag a caravan back to Newcastle,
Anywho... it appears to be happy again now.
Might have a play with the adjustable main jet i have and see if i can improve on whats there now.
Hmmm.....now if i can just figure out where that big roundy chrome thingy with the filter goes i will be happy... i know it came off the left side of the motor near the top somewhere
