If you're after the narrow band whitewalls, try Fishers Ghost Tyre's at Campbeltown. Depending on size, you'd be looking at roughlt 85 to 120 bucks a tyre.

If you're looking for thick band whitewalls, be prepared to pay over 300 bucks a tyre.

As for inserts, from what I've read they actually eat into the sidewall of the tyre, and are considered illegal by some insurance companies.

From what I've read the inserts are mainly suited to crossply tyres, though some here have them on radials with no probs.

They are about 150 bucks a set.

I looked into all 3 options, and ended up getting narrow band whitewalls. The thick band were too pricey, and the inserts would've voided my insurance

Yeah but definitely worth it if that's what you really want!

I bought Coker's for my FE well over 8 years ago and I am very happy with them. I "donated" my original set to the van 2 years ago and John bought me a new set for the FE for my birthday :D

Both sets were bought from Antique Auto Tyre - but they are for 14's.

I read some time ago about White Wall paint.

If cost is an issue, and your a DIY person, could be an option. :?

Lasts 6 to 12 months and paint again to keep going.

Keen to hear if anyone has tried it.
I was going to try it on a couple of older tyres and see how they went.

i forked out the cash ( around $ 250 -ish each ) for wide band white walls from diamond back in carolina ( us ) for the hd about 2 and a half years ago ... when i sold the hd i switched the tyres over onto the ek and still running them driving on 'em every day...
a guy called john cain distributes them here in australia you can find his advert in the magazines or online.

Quite surprised the 185/80/13 doesnt fit in the spare wheel well, as even that size isn't as tall as the factory crossplies.

I bought the same size whitewalls from the same guy, but Khumo's.

Very good tyres.
