When I bought the car, the (now swapped off) plates were mounted so that the top of the plate was level with the bumper bar holes (i.e. "hanging down"). According to legend, the plates were originally mounted (by Holden) higher with a rubber spaced to make them sit upright. If I line up the bottom of the plate with the bumper bar holes (i.e. "sitting up") it looks way too high (at least to my unedjamickated eyes
Can someone please give me their views on how the plates were originally mounted? Photos, as always, appreciated. Apologies in advance if this has been covered before - some searching didn't yield too much.
