Emailed my Cousin this Morning and this was his reply
Regards Tony
We chased it up and all we can do is send a letter of 'cease and desist'.
The name and image are protected but you can't really protect the design without taking out world wide protection - which is very expensive.
Hopefully the letter will put a bit of fear into their minds, but if not, can't do much really.
I understand the copyright thing but you cant go and buy one from Holden (I doubt that the original will ever be available) so whats wrong with someone else with the skills offering to building one? They had a few other cars they offered to do.
something that was brought up on oddrodders there's plenty of fibreglass repro cars so why should this be any different
like bootlegger said if holden won't do it and there's a market somebody else might aswell
If someone want's to fork out a "ship-load" of cash for one...good luck to 'em...it was a project design and therefore open to copies being made.
If there are a thousand 'Effigy's' made a put on the streets..well..the streets would be a lot nicer ...anythings better than a street full of 'Zimm-mobiles'
Scotty.
P.S. I agree with Mr Walker..it DOES need a bumper.
