hey fellas just pulled into Busselton for the easter weekend and into our caravan site we have down here and to my druelling suprise there are several street rods camped out on the temporary sites at the park. Heard a sniff in perth this morning that there is something on down this way, just wondered if anyone knows what show it might be.
spoke to a few of the blokes this morning, they have driven over from NSW, about half dozen tin tops mostly around 32' to 36' year rods all got caravans in tow. Some have been doing a run around part of southwest. The entire group possibly as many as 2 or 3 hundred cars all going to a private show at the Bussellton drive-ins tonite. Then tmoro doing the show n shine day at the trotting complex down here from 10:30. Missus is unhappy but im going for a look, should be well worth the silent treatment i'll get later . Will get some photos and post em on site if I can.
Should be awesome
Just got back from Busselton - top weekend except some lowlife pinched my young blokes pushy and had the front to come back and try to pinch mine as well unfortunately for him we caught him
Heres a few pics ,

This was my ride for the weekend - a mate of mine lent me his '46 Frod sedan for the weekend as I had sold the '64 ' I had to put a sticker or 2 on it though

Yeah didn't realise there was a show either, the chief & I were sitting having a quite one at Laurances winery when all these rods rocked up (for lunch) - and of course no bloody camera contemplated going back to the beach house for the camera but told if we left then woudn't be able to get back in.
But there was some serious money on show - 350 odd cars including round 80 eastern staters
The only reason for time is so everything dosen't happen at once.
If Macca's home delivered there'd be one less drunk on the road.
i recon i was asked 20 /30 times in the weeks leading up to the nats what was going on very clicky group hot rodders most people just wernt aware of it i think if the asrf advitised it more the numbers and the crowds would have / could have been huge
hey Blacky must of missed you while walkin past the cranksters cars and the boys a couple o times. Great show some serious machinery. Met a fella from Nannup with an EK wagon, got talkin to him for a while, seemed like a good bloke, gets on the site sometimes but not an avid site visitor. He said he has built up a collection of spares over the years he said as he had rights to the Nanup tip in years gone bye. Of course stupid here gave his phone number to this bloke coz he is chasing a bench seat for his EK and I said give me a call if your still chasing one later on and didn't take his phone number down so cant contact him at this stage if anyone was chasing anything. He did say he had some doors and panels etc. Dont know if they are for sale or not. Saw what I think was Potsy's EK there without his green caravan but didnt see him, that cream coloured 2 door with the V6 was also there. And one more stupid thing I did was to forget my camera to take some photos at the show. Spewin because there were 2 or 3 rat rod style cars with rusty looking bodies and that much stuff hangin off them they looked like someone raided an old second hand store, but they where my favourites of the entire display these things had so much chararcter it was wild.
Got a few photos of a couple of the rods stayin at the caravan park so will post em when I can.
