15 inch stockos? errr I mean 14" stockos

Post by FB search »

Hi all,

Just wondering... who can tell me?

Can I get a set of 15 inch stock rims to fit the same stud pattern for an FB?

If yes what am I looking for?

I have an idea says he....

Does anyone else run 15 inch stockos?

My mate runs them on his HR and they set it off beautifully (see pic).

I was-a-wonderin if they might have the same effect on an FB?

I have had the pleasure of being custodian for this wonderful beast for
the last month or so and have it still for the next month or so.
It hurts me to tell people it's not mine. ha ha

You got it Devilrod,

I just spoke to my mate and told him what I had said...

and he said...

"errr they're 14's"

oops... I guess I'm showing my newness... I measured from the
outside of the rim, but I gues the 14 inches refers to the inside
tyre diameter. Is that right?

Oh well same question goes. Will they fit on standard FB stud pattern?
I'm planning on pinching them off my mate for a sneaky look if they do. 8)

(he said I could honest  )

Kindly
Dominic

Yeah they should fit fine. What I'm wondering though is with people fitting these to HR front/rear ends, does it matter if you have discs or drums with certain HT/G wheels???

From what I've learned lately is the HT/G rims will fit on a HR disc front, were I went wrong was that I thought I had HR discs on my car but they turned out to be Torrana, so I had to get the HT rims offset so they would fit  ,

Hi
I tried 14" Hk/HT/HG rims on my ute . it has a HR disc front end. They fit but the problem is a Trev has stated.. The offset. HK rims are widened inwards and you end up with a narrower wheel track than you have with standard FB/EK rims.

Yes you can get 15" wheels to fit your early holden stud pattern ... Volvo wheels have the same pattern and they make em in 14" through to 17"
I have seen them on some dic brake moddded holdens including the volvo rear ends.
Moral of the story.. Try one on both ends of the car to check for clearances before ya handover the money to the seller 8)

If ya have a few thousand bucks to throw around go and buy a set of Multifits from your local mag wheel dealer.

To buy them from Ajax wheels new they cost $80 each.
Just to have the offset changed is $55 each, so if you are buying them to have the offset changed $33 is too much, if you can use them as they are I would probably grab them for that cost.

G'Day

Why not throw a" Want it now "add for HK/T/G rims on ebay??
I did and got a stack of offers . Even got offered a set of genuine set of Baffo monaro rims.. way too many $$$$$ for me.
Cheapest standard rims where for free... dearest was $80 ea. brand new.
In the end i could pick and choose.
I ended up with a local set of 4 X 14" chrome steel "Elstar" mags with 4 - 225/ 60 series tyres - 70% tread for $200 :D
Luckily the seller wasnt a greedy bastard like most deals offered on Evilbay.

The rims arent 100% perfect chrome but are tidy enough to use as is.
I bought a set of 14" salt lake Moon caps of ebay for $165.00.
When i get sick of looking at the chromies with flapper white wall tyres i just snap on the moon discs and it gives the car a whole new look.

Also have a set of 13" dragways that look cool on the old Yoot as well.

Good luck with the hunt.
