fitting a red 6cyl motor into FB sedan
I need heilp, can someone tell me please if i can rego a FB sedan with a 202 red 6cyl in Victoria without an enginer certificate. I have had many different stories and I would like to have a correct answer. My car has a HR disk front but has been modified to take rack and pinion steering,it also has the outrigger removed, can this cause problems with rego also. Please can someone help me as I dont know who is right. Thanks.
Can I ask why it has no outrigger?
I too have heard differing opinions. Some say engineers report is needed others say not. A friend of mine did a roadworthy course a few years back and asked about this, the response was its an accepted swap but I'm yet to test this. Yours may need a report due to the rack and it being a 202. Best way to get an answer would be to ring the Vicroads technical dept. or whatever they are called and get it direct from them. Make sure you note down who you speak to for further reference too as some Vicroads branch's have no idea as to what can and can't be done.

6cyl in Fb
Reply to Devil road, My HR front has no outrigger because it came from a guy who was putting it in a hotrod(34 chev). Any more advice on this covertion would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.
Yes YOU DO need an engineers certificate.
What I have at the moment is an EK with a 202 and we're trying to get a RWC then rego, because it has previously been registered in victoria and we are 're-registering' it we DONT need an engineers certificate.
Best thing to do though is ring some engineers/mechanics etc.
