G'day All,
Am posting this question on behalf of a new owner of an FB wagon that requires rust repairs in the floor.
Question is - is $60 per hour a fair hourly rate at a panel shop for that sort of work? Shop is located in rural NSW.
regards
Stewart

Hmm, if they actually work the whole hour I would say it's fair. (being there doesn't necessarily mean your working though!) Personally I would want a "maximum" quote to get the job done. That is not hard to work out based on worse case scenario.
I have a beater who charges $300.00 per 8 hour day and I thought that was a bit rich. But in a shop with overheads etc. Would seem about right.
Regards, Smooth

Sandblast, prime and rust!
Don't suppose anyone knows a retired panel beater up my way looking for a bit of work, beautiful Ballina. I think I will be lucky with the rust situation, as the body of the car is pretty good. Main rust is front inner guards, quite a popular spot apparently, rails and the usual bits around boot rubber areas and door rubber areas, the sandblast will fix some spots and no doubt uncover a bit more! My floor panels are rust free thank goodness!
Now I'm looking for quotes for the sandblast...
