Need advice, engineer, RWC & someone dodgy from vicroads

Post by Nekro63 »

Ok heres the deal, recently picked up an EK ute. At the moment its unregistered but the modifications done to it are-

Auto trans, with a 202. HR front end with discs, steering column is an EH i think.

Whats the best way to get it registered?? I want to see if I can get it done without an engineers certificate cause their so expensive.
But if we get a roadworthy and the engine numbers dont line up with the chassis numbers what will they say or do???

well i assume you got the rego papers for the car when you bought it, check the engine number on the papers against the engine number on the motor.

if they are the same theres no problems there, however if they are different (in nsw) you need a reciept for the motor and you need to get a rego check completed aswell as a change of details (the engine number)

the only problem you might run into is the size of the engine, i know in nsw you are limited to 15% increase in capacity over the 138, and thats like 158ci .... but having said that, most people don't even hold you to that.

worst you can do is try .... like i said, go and check the engine number with the papers, if its the same then go for a road worth check, if you pass that then your in business ... if not, then im sure they will tell you why and what you have to do to satisfy them.
Regards,

Sammy.
