Welch plug size, rear of cylinder head?

Post by Harv »

A quick question please - can someone confirm for me the size of the welch plug that it located in the rear of the grey motor cylinder head? I would normally go and measure it for myself, but am a very, very long way from home.

With this data, I can steer Number One Son to the box of mixed welch plugs.

I can then be confident he has not inadvertently used a metric plug or something weird.

He can then replace the plug in Grace's ute motor.

He can then drag out the FED from under the ute, and throw the motor in.

I can then return home from work and have a chance of doing some FED stuff while advertising the ute for sale again.

Your help please on the dimension of that plug, so I can take this rare opportunity of not coming home to a driveway full of busted kid's cars

Cheers,
Harv

Harv,

One-and-five-eighth inch. Unless you have a very early head, in which case 1-1/4".
