What "metal" for grill work???/

Post by tikEK »

Am in need of some help.
I'm contemplating a bit of a custom grill treatment on the EK and was wondering what the best "steel" would be to use. I'm not into anything fancy, maybe just replacing the horizontal bars and deleting the verticals amongst some other top secret-not-to-be-revealed doozys!

Heap some info on me as what to use, tips and tricks etc etc.
All input appreciated...
cheers

Stainless steel tubes? Maiki can probably tell ya....
Or mild steel and a trip to the chrome platers..
Bunnings, I'm sure there is heaps of potential objects, I'm too scared to wander aimlessly through there it costs too much in tools and stuff!!!!!!

Or look here for some ideas, I have the same post there and am getting some brilliant ideas.....Shame I'm already committed to teeth

Bunnings also have a range of aluminium extrusions, round tube, square, flat etc, etc. I go there to see the range, but your wallet might be better off at Alloy Wholesaler, some do sell to the public.
