Slightly off topic ……

Post by Blacky »

….. but whatever Image

It’s time for the trailers 100,000 km service - it’s 13 years old now and really beginning to show its age, has done a lot of dirt road miles and has been pretty well sandblasted underneath - didn’t really realise just how bad it was until we stripped it today to be honest.

Looking at that surface rust, I recommend painting with something like Phoenix Paints Metalfix. Will save a lot of work getting bare metal.

I actually went and bought some metalfix and was going to do exactly that - but now its getting blasted and epoxy primed and topcoated with the good stuff

yeah slightly off topic  yeah it was a price i couldn't resist trying to sort steering out, nah not the white one this was built about 20 years ago that i know of it's been red oxide, flat purple, flat black and the current blue has a custom front that i'm trying to figure a grill for as the one in it was a shocker

Haven't seen that one before - could you fit an FE grille in there ???

You're spot on - that existing one leaves a bit to be desired

you've possibly seen it in purple i had seen it numerous times on facebook in purple on different pages penny didn't drop till after i bought it as the grill opening has been changed
i've thought FE grill but need to find a really cheap one to see if i can make it fit, the curve would be the tricky part, i've cut up an old EK grill i don't mind with a bit of fiddling and also have the main cross centre section from a HR grill to try the floating centre section, the indicators and park lights are going also
