Re: Reverse Light Pigtail Replacement
Wow. They are the same socket as the indicators aren’t they? That is what I have used in the past. Indicator plugs. Current sedan actually lights up the rear indicators in reverse same as a commercial or FC. Nice dock as always scooter.

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan
Thanks all. Would like to say the idea came from creativity but the reality is it was pure desperation to make the bullet lights fit. The stainless is only 0.5mm so it actually forms okay, is rigid and has minimum flex. It did take a lot of time to sand the shape of the inner ring, but that was a ...

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan
Then there has been the struggles of my bullet taillights - but the solution was worth the effort. Not sure who I got these off (Facebook/here?), but a bit of investigation and they are cast from a modified 1959 Buick Tail Light Lens (Glo-Brite 996. GM #5949897). The casting is okay but I needed to ...

Side tracked by anything that means I don't have to start work on the rusted out drivers side inner and outer sills.

Reverse Light Pigtail Replacement
My car never had reverse lights - they were capped off at the housing.
Did a little internet hunting and can only find kits, which are either $220AUD for the wiring and pigtails, or $330AUD if you want a column mounted switch included.
Can get single wire pigtails for a 58Chev truck from the ...

Re: Project 2.
I put an order in with Rares on line on the weekend. They are usually quick to post and bits arrive in a few days. I sent an email to see how it was going and this is the reply:
"Thanks for reaching out.
I can confirm we have stock of your order and it will be sent out at our earliest ...

Re: Designing Cars With AI - Fun for a rainy day
I've been using it to play with car colours. Got over a hundred colour combos now. You can't use real car colour names, but if you work with basic colour terms, and emotive terms like deep, metallic, pearlescent etc you can do some very phot realistic results. Usual frustrations as it adds things to ...

Can you remind us please who did the chromework? I've still got some more to do on the FED, and looking for performance better than I got from the last vendor.

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan
The stupid thing is - those Better Auto Rubbers look awful in the internet pictures. They clearly aren't hiding the fact that they are sub par. Guess I must have been feeling a little gun shy after my last rares experience.

After just over 7 months I have finally got my all my diecast and steel back from the chrome plater. Overall happy with the result, especially the die cast. 29 pieces in total. Here are a few.

Just to keep the progress here up to date, I went a bit overboard with power window control. Look here https://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewto ... 49#p278049 if you are interested.

Power window control - making it better (and for cheaper).
Sounds like YouTube click bait, but here is my musings in handcrafting power window control.
Background.
The aftermarket AutoLoc power window set up is a motor with a switch. Press the switch in the appropriate direction and the window goes up or down. But when the window reaches the end and can ...

When I rebuilt my triples which are a cobbled to together 1 fuel bowl forward, 2 back configuration, I ordered rebuild kits online from SUMidel. Couple hours later the phone rings and its a guy from SUMidel wanting to confirm my order. I explained what I had, has asked for the parts numbers on the ...
