Drawing pictures helps me make sense of things :egeek: It will hopefully help me remember when its time to wire it into the car.
It's been a bit of a head scratcher that's for sure.
Now its back to the fuel tank. Was hoping to do a height measurement today, but I can't for the life of me work out ...

Wiper set up fun and games.
So inspired by the intermittent wiper set up on Blacky’s FB Ute https://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=273876#p273876 , I purchased a couple of MaxTronic intermittent wiper controllers.

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan
Thanks Blacky. I have a short straight hose, ID 57mm, to connect between the tank and the filler pipe. Think I’ll have to ditch that for a 45 degree one and adjust from there. Yeah mucking around with the original pipe is probably a bit of overkill as its a long way off at the moment
Thanks Harv ...

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan
Quick test fit.
Kept the filler neck off the old tank thinking I could re use it. Not quite! Ideas anyone? I thought of pie cutting the neck but if there is a simpler solution let me know.

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan
Mustang tank install time.
Started off with a measuring tape and some CAD. Inlet pipe is slightly offset from centre by 20mm to the right, so tank has to be offset to the left.

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
I honestly found this video on YouTube extremely helpful in understanding how a wiper motor works, but more importantly, the roll that the switch plays in the operation of the park circuit. Up until watching this I had no clue.

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
I'm going through this at the moment with a 2 speed BA wiper using a delco switch. Obviously notgoing to help you much with your set up but I guess the concepts should hold.

Re: Mustang Fuel tank Sender Problems
Thanks everyone. For reference, this was the sender I used - C5ZZ-9275-C 64-7 FUEL SENDER 5/16 TUBE SS Got a pretty good price from https://harrysclassicsmustangparts.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=2859

Re: Mustang Fuel tank Sender Problems
Adjustment time.
Clamped it shut and tested. Full empty is reading 3 ohms so need to bend the arm a bit. First take a picture to reference the correct float position when empty.

Need to bend this part of the arm in a counter clockwise direction.

Re: Mustang Fuel tank Sender Problems
Well had success. Not with the FM101 but with some brute force to the sender.
First up cut a notch in the plastic resistor holder so I could flip it 180 degrees and get 0 ohms for empty and 75 full.
Unfortunately the plastic housing does not fit back on due to an indent in the metal backing plate ...

Mustang Fuel tank Sender Problems
Got a real head scratcher trying to install/calibrate a Mustang sender to the FB/EK gauge.
--Edit its FM101 not LM101
I’m using a FM101 as per Drew's build. This allows you to calibrate a different sender to match your gauge. In this case a 10/73 ohm sender to a 30/0 ohm gauge . I bought 2 of this ...

Re: Ol' Rusty - FB/EK Sedan
Apart from over complicating everything I do, the second biggest obstacle I face with this build is procrastination. Think I started looking at replacing the fuel tank with a Mustang one over 2 years ago. I have even had the tabs open in my web browser for all that time. Well, I bit the bullet as ...

Re: The loooonnng term EK 2 door project
Impressive - I would have been happy getting it to the forth picture

Re: FB ute
Yeah that's the issue I'm trying to find a neat solution to. When you think about it the stalk wiper switch is at least 2 switches (one for OFF/INT/SLOW/FAST, the other for intermittent duration), just in a neater package.
My preference would be to have a wiper switch with 4 positions, OFF ...
