Sump gasket
I am about to change the sump gasket (with the engine in the car), It looks like the 2 short bits are for the front and rear. Just trying to work out how to keep them bent while installing them. Or better to silicone them onto the sump with a curved "former" maybe while the silicon dries?

In-car balancer replacement
I was about to install the harmonic balancer with the engine in the car, when I noticed a notch carved into the bottom edge of the radiator panel , lining up with the middle of the crankshaft. This must have been forethought by GMH, as I sure can't swing a BFH in the gap where the radiator sits, but...

Re: Hidden Front Seat belt upper mounts
Thanks for all the replies. I've installed many rears in early Chev's , Pontiacs, etc, just so I could strap the baby seats in, but never bothered with fronts as they are not required here (S.A.) if never originally fitted.(before '66). Thats a very neat installation EK283, and thanks for the Photob...

Hidden Front Seat belt upper mounts
I would like to fit lap/sash seat belts to my FB, and have seen "hidden" types (where the big ugly bolt head is not visible from the outside). I have tried finding pictures on this site, but it comes back with "404 error- something about being moved". Anyone have a photo of their...

Tie rods - slightly bent?
While adjusting the pitman arm ball socket, I noticed that both tie rods have a very slight bend. It is pretty much the same amount on both.
Is this normal?

Re: PCV valve
You been snoopin' over my fence again!!!
Re: PCV valve
Your'e right, I didn't follow the line through properly, and the line I was looking at was the vacuum line for the wipers. I reckon a "T" there might work, the line is 1/4".
Re: PCV valve
There is a fitting which feeds the vacuum advance on the distributor, how about a "T" fitting there? I don't have any other holes in the manifold, unless I get to it with the drill.
PCV valve
I want to fit a PCV valve to my 138 (she smokes a bit at idle through the road draft tube), and would like to know - The best location for the "return" line- I was thinking of drilling and tapping the spacer plate under the carby, and using a screw-in type PCV valve. Also, how is the road ...

Re: sound / heat proofing
Have a look at the stuff called "Kingspan" or something similar. They use it under corrugated roofs, and it is basically a 1/4" poly-something foam (pink) in between some ally foil. I have used this to sound and heat proof my roadster, works well, and the best part was I raided the of...

Re: restoring weather strips
And you can use the "loop" part of the self-adhesive part of the Velcro strip (available at Spotlight, by the metre), inside the vertical window (Bailey?) channel. Clean out the old stuff, wrap the strip around a steel 12'' ruler along it's length, and fit it into the channel (after peelin...
