"Frankie" for sale

The time has come to offer up my pride & joy for sale, the 1960 model FB Holden Sedan affectionately known as "Frankie"

There was a lot of blood, sweat & beers that went into this build and was approximately 6 years in the making. Some of you on here may be familiar with the build that started back ...

Re: FB Special project

Yeah the esky is an old Malleys one I bought off gumtree a couple of years back, still has the little bottle opener on the side.

TBH the number plates are just blue tacked on for the photos. I had just literally picked them up from the Dept of Transport and when I got back home none of the holes on ...

Re: FB Special project

1960 FB HOLDEN
“FRANKIE”

Well after 7 long years the old FB is finally finished. There has been a lot of blood, sweat and beers gone into this build (not to mention a truck load of cash as well) but it is finally complete with full road registration. This build was a tribute to the old boy who ...

Re: FB Special project

Blacky, yeah it look's like Big Mike has moved and gone all online and likely not shipping to Oz anymore? Danchuk's cheapest shipping was about $US60, which is about 3 times the price of the actual kit.

Mph, agreed, as I mentioned I only used the actual horn contact (with the spring) all the other ...

Re: FB Special project

Says they don't ship to my address? You had stuff shipped from Mike's Chevy Parts before?

Re: FB Special project

Pretty sure this is kit Blacky? Just confirm and I'll order a couple for payback, like I said I didn't use any of the other parts just the actual contact.

Re: FB Special project

No worries, I'll have a scrounge around for the bag, don't think I chucked it out.

Re: FB Special project

Yeah mate, sorry I forgot to get back to you. The contact was a winner, slotted straight in, no need for modification. I didn't use any of the other bits as I already had original parts

Was that from Danchuck in the states? Let me know the part number and I'll order a few to ...

Re: FB Special project

Well we finally sorted through our dizzy issue and have temporarily gone back to points from Pertronix EI. Good news is we are now finally running and driving, first pit pass was unsuccessful due to it requiring engineering cert for the HR disc brake front end (rookie error) but hopefully that ...

Re: FB Special project

Well we finally got "Frankie" fired up after plenty of distributor/coil issues. Turns out the fully reconditioned Bosch dizzy I bought was not so reconditioned but with some repairs and back to original points (had Pertronix EI) we are up and running.

Unfortunately it failed the first pit pass due ...

Re: Electronic dizzy in grey.

Found this slip ring that sits over the old hex shaft, looks like its been dropped or smashed at some stage then someone has attempted to remould and glue it back together (dodgey as) Think this could be the culprit, going to replace it and fit points to try get it running.

Re: Electronic dizzy in grey.

Was going to start a new thread but this seems to cover most of what I'm looking for.

We are currently on the vinegar stroke of getting "Frankie" over the pits but we are having issues trying to start!! It's turning over nicely but not firing, we have the Pertronix Ingitor 1 unit fitted with a ...
