A few more progress pics, I have finished welding in the floor pans and trans tunnel. I also welded some reinforcement into the new trans tunnel to replace the bit that was lost when I removed the old tunnel.
A couple of coats of 3M Kahguard came up really nice on the under body.

Re: Shane's EK
Thats what I thought, I don't think i'll bother hanging on to them as I don't have an original gearbox/motor/front or rear end. I doubt I will ever go to the expense and heartache to find the bits to make the car original again. I'll put the bits on the for sale page for the price of postage only.

Re: Shane's EK
It's been a while since I posted, I have done all of my welds by butt welding except for that first pan, once the welder was set up right it was actually a hell of a lot easier. I'll put some pics up soon.

Re: Shane's EK
I used that tar based stuff because it was a convenient pressure pack that I could put inside the supports while I hade it apart. I really like the idea of KBS rust seal, it looks like it would be suitable for the floor inside and out and also maybe the firewall and k frame/engine bay and the boot ...

Re: Shane's EK
Here are a few shots of my floor pan replacement, after a lot of thought I decided against doing a butt weld and I lap welded it. I welded it on both sides and kept the overlap to a minimum. The weld looks a little shabby because it is a whole lot of tacks all the way around because I was trying to ...

Steering Box Parts From HQ/J/X/Z WB
Hi, does anyone have a worm shaft and a worm shaft adjuster nut (the big one that has the bearing cup in it) from an HQ/J/X/Z WB steering box, I want to put them in my EK box so I have a set of splines to attach a collapsible column to. Also if anyone has an old seal that I can check the OD of to ...

Re: Shane's EK
Back from the blasters, there were a few little surprises and definitely some evidence of previous repairs but generally pretty good. Have ordered a set of floor pans from Rare Spares and I have my new transmission tunnel from Waddingtons to weld in too.

Re: Shane's EK
I think the 202 will do just nice with a full rebuild a mild cam and a little head work with a WW Stromberg. I also had a chat with my local engineer and as I am putting a 202 in I will need a collapsible column, dual circuit brakes, seatbelts, windscreen washers, 2 speed wipers (depending on the ...

Re: Radio Advice
Yeah I know, he had EK in the listing so I thought it would be right but then I read a post on this forum where someone had one very similar that was too deep and wouldn't fit, that placed doubt in my mind, hence the confirmation. Better than it arriving and having to say "but your listing said it ...
