At this point its fix the rust and touch up the paint, do the brakes - it does stop well and pulls up straight but the pads and rotors are very old , rebush the front end and cal it done. Hasn’t made it to 200,000 km yet , not bad for 46 years old- is very original, has a aftermarket radio, the original rims and hubcaps are there , it has a cheap tachometer under the dash and one mystery switch- apart from that is stock as a rock 202 3 on the tree - just the way the good lord intende...

Blocking the relief hole is a common trick to supply more oil to the rockers themselves - can't help you with the seals though

When I read the thread title before clicking on it I said to myself "I'm gonna make a stupid comment about that - something along the lines of shooing it away with a broom" assuming it was in fact a leaking diff.
