Re: Any feedback on Retro Radios
Old post I know, but if anyone interested I just put a retro radio model 2 in my FB, along with a neat speaker which has 2 small speakers in one body which fits perfectly in the front speaker hole to give a "stereo" sound. Put a speaker in the back parcel shelf hole which does the same sort of thing ...

Re: help with oil leaks on recoditioned engine and steering
Thanks guys for the replies.
I have decided not to drill my locking cap and just bought an aftermarket lockable one instead that looks similar. No worries then about if it sucks the tank in or run the pump dry when fuel level drops (and it did drop quick I noticed - maybe jamming two standard re ...

Re: help with oil leaks on recoditioned engine and steering
Hi Blacky,
Would the seal you replaced be the one numbered 20 in the exploded view diagram from my shop manual? If so, did you need the shown tool to remove the pitman arm to get to it, and would you then need to do a wheel alignment again?
On the fuel caps, can you make a non-vented one vented ...

vented or non vented fuel cap?
Hi all,
Can someone help me determine the right fuel cap to use on my FB? I have two options - a non-vented, non-locking cap which came with the car when I bought it and another locking fuel cap for which I do not have a key or an idea on where it came from (thinking FE or FC). My preference would ...

help with oil leaks on recoditioned engine and steering box
Hi all,
Big day for me yesterday with first drive in my restored FB after a rebuild taking 4 years. Last time it was registered was 28 years ago. All went well except after a 200km drive including some big hills (Maleny in Sunshine Coast hinterland, Qld) when I stopped I noticed a few whisps of ...

Re: Support bars for what?
I know this is an old post, but can anyone take a photo for me - I find myself not remembering where the skinny rods came from as well.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: tail light switches needed
Thanks mate - did you bash the original out while the tail light assembly was in place, and if so, bash into the car or from the inside out?

Re: tail light switches needed
Hi Bigrevnev and Harv,
Would you mind taking a photo or explaining how you retro fitted your globe holders? These are what I found at Bursons (rare sprares have something similar for 5 times the price as usual).

tail light switches needed
Hi all,
Does anyone have some switches for tail lights they could part with, as mine have fallen apart. I need 1 of the single bayonets and 1 at least or hopefully 2 of the twin bayonets as my twin one has very short wires that I might have a hard time soldering onto.

rear handbrake equaliser and drivers side horn required
Anyone got a rear handbrake equaliser and a drivers side horn lying about? Car nearing restoration completion and I cant for the life of me find these two bits.
Thanks, Matt.
Thanks, Matt.

Does anyone have a rear handbrake cable equaliser
Hi all,
Does any one have what I think is called a rear handbrake cable equaliser for an FB sedan? It joins the rear cable to the intermediate handbrake lever which is positioned on a bracket that is near the end of the gearbox. I think what I am missing looks like the Y piece shown in the photo ...

Re: measure between fan and standard radiator needed please
Thanks for the tip Devilrod - in fact it was Ebay I was considering. The one I was looking says FX-FE but has the same measurements as my standard one except the width. On Ebay there are many suppliers that have the same photo - the one I have been in contact with is a seller called corvette299 ...

measure between fan and standard radiator needed please
Hi all,
Can anyone provide me with a measurement between the front of the standard fan and the rear of a standard radiator on an FB? I am contemplating an aluminium radiator which is about 10mm thicker than standard - I don't want the fan to foul on the radiator obviously.
Thanks,
Matt
