Great job mate,

It all starts to make sence when some paint goes on and suddenly you realise not much more to go.

Re: Nat’s diary 2025

Ha Ha Ha,

Lets not get confused here, the Tom Thumb is an excelent oil pump that I use all the time, particularly for gearboxes.
I think i got it from Super cheap, it has a horseshoe metal hook on the end of the tube and fits and stays in most machinery orificess (couldnt help myself !)

He will be ...

Pretty good for its design and age you know !

Ive never used that metal fix, got a small job on an engine block to seat a gasket, might try it on that.

Re: Losing water… but why?

Blacky's theory is spot on.

The only issue with large psi caps can be the heater core, especially if it is old. Most are rated at 7psi only.
If you are real keen put in a recovery cap and a bottle at the end of the overflow hose, this will catch the blowby but suck it back in when it cools.
You can ...

Hi Clay can't remember where your sender is placed ?

That position may also give different readings.

Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

Hi Clay,
Yes less caster one side will make the vehicle pull to that side but i dont like it because not all roads have the same camber.

Looking at your 2mm to 4mm toe, I think that is too much but without seeing what your caster is i can't be sure if your tyre wear is because of that only.

This ...

Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

Hi Clay,
I do the caster then camber then do the toe last.
CASTER is done by turning the wheels left 20 degrees from straight ahead then taking a reading of the inclination of the wheel then turning the wheel right 20 degrees from straight ahead and repeating the measurement. You calculate the ...

Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom

I was talking to Bruce from your club at the Nats and he was looking at me weird when i told him i do all my alignments myself.
Its really easy.
You need two degreed wheel plates (swivel type), I bought them on ebay.
A level that measures degrees, string line and a bracket that sits flush on your ...
